Wartburg Players present ‘Rumors’
|
The Wartburg Players will present the play "Rumors" on Thursday, April 4, and Friday, April 5. The shows begin nightly at 7:30 p.m. in McCaskey Lyceum. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for kids and free for Wartburg students with an ID. “Rumors,” by playwright Neil Simon, follows four couples at an anniversary party for their best friends, Charley and Myra. However, Myra is missing and Charley has been shot. The couples comically try, and fail, to contain the situation.

Fulbright Outreach Scholar presentation

Wartburg will host a Fulbright Outreach Scholar from March 31 to April 3. Jairo Viales of Costa Rica specializes in ESL programs. Come hear him speak on the “Role of Language as a Vehicle for Learning Culture and Defining ID” at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 2, in the Buckmaster Room (WBC 214). Students are strongly encouraged to attend and learn about the Fulbright Scholars program! Contact Gloria Campbell with questions.

May Term Senate applications

Click here for May Term Senate applications, which are due at 4 p.m. Thursday, April 4. A mandatory election meeting will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, April 4, in the Hub to provide you with all of the information needed during your campaign. Summer Storage for out-of-state students
|
The Office of Student Life is once again offering a summer storage program for returning out-of-state students. Wartburg faculty and staff volunteers will store items for students over the summer break free of charge. Certain conditions apply, and students must arrange their own transportation to and from the storage facility. This program is currently only available to students who reside out of state. Interested students should stop by the Student Life office to sign up and pick up program information. Registrations will NOT be accepted by email. The weather has warmed and bikes will be available for checkout at Vogel Library by Wednesday, April 3. When checking out a bike for the first time this term, you will need to fill out a new bike borrowing agreement form even if you have completed a form in a previous term. Bikes may be checked out for four hours at a time and include a key for the bike lock and a helmet. Enjoy a bike ride this spring!

The Wartburg Philosophical and Literary Society will meet Friday, April 5, at 4 p.m. in McCoy West of Saemann Student Center. Sanah Munir, fourth-year psychology and neuroscience major, will present “The Role of Parental Care and Overprotection on the Acute Physiological and Psychological Indicators of Stress.” The second presentation will be given by Freddie Eden, second-year political science major. The title of his talk is “Corruption Among Nations: Investigating Casual Responses.”

Wind Ensemble spaghetti dinner Saturday

The Wind Ensemble will host a spaghetti dinner on Saturday, April 6, 4-7 p.m., at St. Paul's Lutheran Church & School in Waverly to raise funds for its tour of Japan.
