WartburgAlert test planned Jan. 18 |
The emergency notification system for Wartburg College, WartburgAlert, will be tested around noon Thursday, Jan. 18. WartburgAlert is tested, at minimum, once per term. Alerts aren’t automatically sent. You have to register your phone in order to receive alerts. There is no charge for registering and you may register up to two numbers for text notification and two numbers for voice phones. You are strongly encouraged to register an SMS number to receive a text, as it is the quickest and most reliable means of notification. To register, log on to the InfoCenter and click on Offices, Parking & Safety, WartburgAlert. If you have problems registering, come to the security office Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. To verify if you are registered before Jan. 18, send an email to campus.security@wartburg.edu, and we will confirm your registration. |

Dance Marathon Co-Ed Volleyball Tournament |
Sign up for the Dance Marathon Co-Ed Volleyball Tournament Saturday, Jan. 27. Cost is $30 per team. All profits go to the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital. Teams must include three girls on the court at all times and one Wartburg student on each team. Non-Wartburg players must fill out liability form prior to playing. Dance Marathon FT5K race |
Wartburg College Dance Marathon will sponsor a 5K race Saturday, March 17. Registration fee is $20 by March 1 and $25 after March 1. T-shirts are guaranteed for early registrants (by March 1). Registration will also be available the day of the race, starting at 7:30 a.m.; the race will begin at 8:30 a.m. All profits will go to the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital. Top seniors applying for Ph.D. programs are encouraged to apply for the McElroy Fellowship, which supports $10,000 for each of three Ph.D. program years. Click here for more information. FIELD Program accepting applications |
The Minor League Baseball Fostering Inclusion through Education and Leadership Development (FIELD) Program is now accepting applications for the class of 2018. The program, geared toward women and minority students, was created under the MiLB Diversity Initiative to engage the next generation of diverse leaders in sports business. Recipes from Home |
Students, faculty, and staff are asked to share their favorite recipes from home to be considered for the 2018-19 Mensa menu. Recipes for entrees, salads, ethnic dishes, vegan entrees or sides, and desserts can be emailed to shelly.geweke@wartburg.edu by Friday, Jan. 26. Don’t forget to include your name and contact information for verification. Recipes chosen will be taste-tested in Mensa and the student body will vote for their favorites. Dishes that receive a “thumbs-up” will be considered for next year’s Mensa menu. |

Postal rate increase |
U.S. Postal Service rates will increase Jan. 21. Stamp prices will increase by 1 cent for postcards, letters, and metered mail. Package, Priority Mail, and Express Mail rates will increase by varying amounts, depending on weight and destination.
