Are you interested in planning a favorite Wartburg tradition? Join Outfly Committee 2022 to plan and organize activities, decorations, and events related to Outfly. Email ryleigh.parrack@wartburg.edu with questions.
Students UKnight, a student service organization dedicated to “UKnighting” Wartburg students, is looking for its 2022 executive board. Applications are due by 11:55 p.m. Sunday, June 5. The following executive positions are available: president, communications director, treasurer, philanthropy educator, and alumni relations director. Please email studentsuknight@wartburg.edu with questions.
Chemistry Club offers lawn games, root beer floats

The Wartburg Chemistry Club will host a fundraising event from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, May 23, on the campus mall in front of Old Main. There will be lawn games, $1 root beer floats, and the group’s signature beaker mugs available for purchase: $12 for a small and $18 for a large.

Library items, laptops due Thursday
All library items checked out for May term, including long-term laptops, are due Thursday, May 26, the last day of finals. Be sure to return all books, journals, scores, interlibrary loan materials to avoid overdue fees. Please return laptops during normal library hours; other materials can be returned 24 hours a day, seven days a week using the book drop in the southern ground-floor entrance (closest to the Science Center). Donate old T-shirts at next Trash to Treasure
Join Students UKnight for another Trash to Treasure event from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, May 24, in front of Old Main or in the Student Center if it rains. Bring an old college T-shirt to donate to Trinkets and Togs. Students who make a donation will receive a new limited-edition Wartburg shirt. Email StudentsUKnight@wartburg.edu with questions.
Invitational chess tournament announced
The first Wartburg Chess Championship will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 27, in Buckmaster. This is an invitational round-robin tournament; interested competitors should email cristian.allen@wartburg.edu. Stop by the event to watch the action and learn more about chess events planned for the next academic year.
KV Films premieres five works Thursday

KV Films will debut five short films created this May Term. “Donor,” “The Grade,” “Mr. Blue,” “Radio Silence,” and “Out of Hope” will all be screened during each of two free sessions on Thursday, May 19, in McElroy Center 134. The first session will be from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and the second session will be from 2 to 3:30 p.m.

Time shifts for Amazon presentation
Students on the May Term course Amazonian Ecology and Culture II will speak about their trip to the rainforest in Peru on Tuesday, May 24, in Science Center 102. Presentations will be ongoing from 3 to 5 p.m. about the group’s research; seeing new birds, butterflies and mammals; and the ecology and culture of the native people. Please note this event begins at 3 p.m., rather than 1 p.m. as was previously announced.
Weekly Juice returns in Fall Term
This is the last regularly scheduled Juice for the 2021-22 academic year. Weekly messages will begin again when classes resume in September. Special communications will be sent out over the summer as needed. Please email alan.simmer@wartburg.edu with questions or urgent communication needs.

Sanctuary on Wednesdays

Sanctuary is a casual service that takes place Wednesday nights. All are welcome to relax and center themselves around God’s word in the midst of their busy weeks. Service begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Chapel Commons (basement), with pizza served beforehand at 7 p.m.

Dance Marathon, ETK schedule event
Wartburg College Dance Marathon and ETK will host a May Term event from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, on the campus mall in front of Old Main. There will be food, games, Dance Marathon merchandise and the chance to sign up early to begin fundraising.
Senior Pig Roast set May 26
The Senior Pig Roast will be held for the Class of 2022 at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 26, at Walston-Hoover Stadium. Fourth-year students should pick up their tickets by 2 p.m. Monday, May 23, from the Alumni & Parent Engagement Office, Luther Hall 136. If you can’t make it to the office in person before then, have someone else pick up your ticket. Contact the Alumni & Parent Engagement Office with questions.
