Student activities during the break

All students are welcome to take part in free activities just for fun over the break. As more activities are added to the list below, we'll include them at www.wartburg.edu/break and will promote on Wartburg's Instagram Story as dates approach. Some activities require pre-registration to send you free materials. Contact the facilitator directly via email if you have questions. Have ideas of other activities we could offer? Holiday Break Book Clubs
Led by Dr. Rachel Clark (Faculty in Residence)
• The registration deadline is TODAY at this link, where you can see descriptions of the three books and choose the one you want. Meet online weekly to discuss in small groups. Books are FREE and will be mailed to participants. The books are:  
1. Brit Bennett’s “The Vanishing Half
2. Donna Tartt’s “The Secret History
3. Naomi Novik’s “Spinning Silver
WHEN: Weekly discussions begin Dec. 15, at a time set by those participating
• Supplies needed: The book

Yoga/Fitness Classes
Led by Carrie Gleason (The W)
• Continue your fitness habits through break, with a fun and fast yoga class to give you the accountability to stay on track! A fitness playlist will be posted for participants to listen to as we flow through a 30-minute Vinyasa Flow Class.
WHEN: 9:30-10 a.m. on Tuesdays, starting Dec. 8.

Wartburg Online Book Club: ‘Anxious People’
Led by Katie Kreis (Development) and Samantha Pfab (Campus Programming)
• Read and discuss the book “Anxious People” by Fredrik Backman in a weekly online group. Capacity is 10 students. First come, first served for a free book, which will be mailed to you.
WHEN: Weekly discussions at 1 p.m. (CST) Wednesdays, starting Dec. 16

Origami
Led by Lindsey Leonard (Student Life)

Learn the art of paper folding! You will create an origami star, an 8-point Dahlia, and two versions of an origami diamond (which can be used as tree ornaments).

Stitch!
Led by Samantha Pfab (Campus Programming)
A fun time to learn about the art of cross stitching/embroidery. A relaxing time to learn how to do it and spend some time doing the thing!

Game Lunch
