Free food pantry open over Fall Break
|
St. Elizabeth’s Bread Basket, the on-campus free food pantry, will be open over Fall Break to any Wartburg student. SEBB is located in the Student Life office, and hours will be 2-4 p.m. Friday, noon to 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday and Tuesday. Plan to arrive early for best selection. Student Life presents: Res Life tours
|
On Tuesday, Oct. 15, Student Life will offer tours to faculty, staff and students interested in learning more about the dorms on campus. Dorm tours will be offered from 2:30 to 4 p.m., and you can begin your tour at either Clinton Lounge, the Complex lounge, or Cardinal Commons. Student Life staff and RAs will be available to answer questions, and refreshments will be offered. All students are welcome to attend.

Admissions is missing a silver cart used to transport things. It is approximately 5 feet long and 2.5 feet wide with a tall stationary handle. If you or your office happen to notice this cart, please let the Admissions Office know by calling 319-352-8264 and we will come get it.

Diversity & Inclusion Book Club

All are invited to join the Diversity & Inclusion Book Club, which will study the book “So You Want to Talk About Race.” Pick up your copy of the book in Student Life. At 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 11, there is an opportunity to meet the author, Ijeoma Oluo, at Lang Hall on the University of Northern Iowa campus. Wartburg will arrange transportation for student, faculty, and staff who wish to attend her speech. Midterm D or F grades submitted Wednesday
|
Midterm D or F grades will be submitted by instructors to the Registrar by 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16. Midterm grades can be viewed on My Wartburg by selecting “View Midterm Grade Report” from the Grade Report menu on the Academics tab. Midterm grades are not recorded on academic transcripts. Students are responsible for monitoring their grades throughout the term.

Armed subject protocol available

Safety & Security has posted a protocol in the unlikely event of an armed subject on campus. The campus community is encouraged to become familiar with the plan in case a situation should occur. The plan can be found among other safety plans at https://info.wartburg.edu/Offices/Security-Safety.

Due to a FedEx change, packages arriving via FedEx Ground or FedEx Home now arrive between 3 and 4 p.m. daily. Items destined for departments will be delivered on the following business day. Departments awaiting urgent items may contact kory.figura@wartburg.edu to request alternate delivery options for specific tracking numbers.
There is no postal mail service, incoming or outgoing, on Monday, Oct. 14, due to the federal holiday. This service interruption may affect Amazon deliveries and will apply to items with delivery dates on Saturday, Oct. 12, and Sunday, Oct. 13.

It’s back! Wartburg’s literary magazine, The Castle, is back and running. We’re accepting submissions for Fall and Winter semesters, so send your short stories, poetry, and graphic stories (comics), and questions to lindsey.jacobs@wartburg.edu. New this year is a cover art competition! Submit any medium and style to have a chance to be the cover of the book (must have a digital resolution of at least 200 ppi, physical size of 5x7 in.). The fall deadline for submissions, including cover art, is Oct. 18.

Then join the Wartburg-Eastern Iowa Chapter of the German American National Congress (DANK) for free. DANK promotes German culture, heritage, language, and education across the country. Voter registration information

For any student wishing to vote in local elections on Nov. 5, click here to learn more from the Iowa Secretary of State's office. As a college student, you may choose to register to vote at your home address or at your college address. You cannot register to vote at both. The Bremer County Auditor’s Office is located at the Bremer County Courthouse, 415 East Bremer Ave., Waverly, and is open 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. You may also email Bremer County Auditor Shelley Wolf at swolf@co.bremer.ia.us for more information.

All are welcome at Weekday Chapel services from 10:15 to 10:35 a.m. each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday in the Wartburg Chapel. Chapel time is a brief opportunity to gather with students, staff, and faculty to reflect on God and faith. Interfaith chapels will be held the last Wednesday of each month during the semester.
