Several Wartburg staff members recently attended Jenzabar's Annual Meeting (JAM) in San Diego, California: Henrique Donati, application systems analyst; Joel Holthaus, records coordinator, Registrar's office; Sheree Covert, registrar; Danise Flood, Development data specialist; Rich Everhardt, web application developer; Dan Kittle, dean of students; Adrija Ashrita, associate director of recruitment services; Brenda Cummer, office coordinator, Global Admissions; David Olson, accounting & financial manager; Pat Melver, Admissions assistant for prospect management; and Paula Hoodjer, Admissions assistant for application management.
Tara Winter, director of student recruitment, was selected by a vote of her professional peers to serve as president-elect of Iowa ACAC for 2019-20 and then as president of the organization in 2020-21. Winter has more than 17 years of experience in college admissions and has served Wartburg since 2003 and in her current role since 2009. Natalie Smith, associate director of admissions, and Bailey Camenisch, admissions counselor, were awarded the Michael Barron Impact Award, given to admissions professionals for making a difference in the lives of students. Mallory Luensmann, assistant director of admissions, chaired the Iowa conference, and Camenisch and Katie Wyman, admissions counselor, served on the conference planning committee.
Todd Coleman, assistant vice president for admissions, was the featured speaker May 22 at the Kossuth/Palo Alto Intern Breakfast in Algona. Coleman spoke on the topic of “Filling Your Water Tank Before You Are Thirsty” and the power of networking.
