Incomplete grade policy reminder

An incomplete grade is not valid unless it is supported by a Student Request for Incomplete Grade Form. Students should initiate completion of the form to confirm they have been in communication with the instructor regarding the incomplete grade policy. The form is available under Special Request Forms - Student from the Academics tab of MyWartburg or in the Registrar’s Office. Any incomplete grade submitted by the instructor without support of the form will be changed to an “F.” Additional information about the incomplete grade definition can be found online in the 2018-19 academic catalog.

 

St. Elizabeth Bread Basket open during break

St. Elizabeth Bread Basket is a new program with the Northeast Iowa Food Bank that makes food options available to students for free during breaks when campus dining locations are closed or limited. Visit SEBB for food pantry items in the Student Life Office, first floor of Saemann Student Center, during these hours:

Thursday, April 18: Noon-4:30 p.m.

Friday, April 19: 10-11 a.m.*

Saturday, April 20: 2-4 p.m.*

Sunday, April 21: CLOSED

Monday, April 22: 1-3 p.m.*

Tuesday, April 23, to Friday, April 26: 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

Saturday, April 27, and Sunday, April 28: CLOSED

*On these dates, SEBB may be accessed by going to the Campus Security office.

Try the TriByKnight triathlon

The TriByKnight Triathlon, now in its eighth year, is one of the most popular early season events in the region. This USAT-sanctioned sprint tri (300-yard swim, 15-mile bike, 3.1-mile run) is perfect for those just getting started in the sport and is staged on the Wartburg College campus Saturday, May 4. Dance Marathon smashes fundraising goal

Wartburg College Dance Marathon would like to thank Wartburg students, faculty, and staff for supporting our mission. This year WCDM crushed its goal of $130,000 and raised a total of $153,307.11 for the kids at the UI Stead Family Children's Hospital in Iowa City. Wartburg students Haley Harms, Liam Conroy, Jackie Falconer, Ashlee Henderson, and Alison Rusch competed as finalists in the Neeley Entrepreneurship Center Values and Ventures® Business Plan Competition at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas, April 5-6. The team developed its business plan under the guidance of Dr. Allan Bernard, assistant professor of business administration. Jeff Martinelli mentored the members and Wartburg alumnus and Board of Regents member Michael Murphy ’89 sponsored the team.

 

Dining hours during Tour Week

For the Dining Services hours during Tour Week and Easter weekend, please click here. During Tour Week, students will not be able to use their meal plans if staying on campus, and there will be no meal transfers. The first meal in Mensa after break will be Sunday evening, April 28.

 

Deadlines for shuttle rides

Shuttles will be traveling to the Waterloo bus station and airport and to the Cedar Rapids airport for the Tour Week break. To sign up and see details, visit www.wartburg.edu/shuttle.

•	The deadline is April 20 to book a seat returning to campus at the end of Tour Week on April 28.
•	The deadline is May 17 to book a seat for the end-of-year shuttle on May 24.
•	The shuttle schedule for 2019-20 will be posted soon at the link above.

 

Juice publishing schedule for end of the term

Please make note of the Juice email publishing schedule through the end of the academic year:

•	No Monday Juice the week of April 22 due to Tour Week.
•	The final weekly Juice of the term will be May 20.
•	The Juice will publish intermittently through the summer as needed, about every other week for the Faculty/Staff edition.
•	Weekly Juice emails will begin again Monday, Aug. 26, just before the start of Fall Term.

April Mail Center schedule

The Mail Center has the following schedule updates in April:

•	Abbreviated hours Finals and Tour Week, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
•	Closed Friday, April 19, and Monday, April 22
•	Mail and packages will NOT be forwarded during Tour Week or May Term unless you sign up to start mail forwarding early. If you will not be on campus for May Term and summer, please submit an email asking to start forwarding early to mailroom@wartburg.edu.

 

Senior art exhibit

Wartburg’s Senior Exhibition 2019 showcases works from senior students Sam Engelken, Hannah Fox, Haley Harms, Emily McCalla, and Anthony Quesada Sanchez. No Midweek Chapel services this week

Sanctuary on Wednesday night

Sanctuary will meet this week on Wednesday night, April 17, in Chapel Commons (basement). Come at 8:45 p.m. for treats and fellowship, and stay for a relaxed time of Bible study, fellowship, worship band music, prayers, and communion.
