If you are looking for an ID course or a May Term course on campus this May, check out ID 307: The American Landscape. The course examines the American landscape and the way that it has been shaped over time through natural, social, and human forces. As an ID class, we will explore the intersection of the three academic domains: natural science, social science, humanities/fine arts. We think about ways in which people have managed the land over time, what happens when natural forces and social forces collide, the ways in which the American Landscape is considered imaginatively, and ways in which it has been preserved (or not). Class sessions are primarily discussion-based. Please direct any questions to Dr. Sonja Lynch, Luther Hall 310, 352-8538.
|
The Wartburg Philosophical and Literary Society will meet Friday, Feb. 8, at 4 p.m. in McCoy West of Saemann Student Center. Michael Luebbers, Wartburg biology alumnus and 19-year employee of the USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service, will present “Got Dirt — Get Soil.”
