Did the polar vortex keep you from shopping the Winter Sale at The Wartburg Store last week? Great news! The sale has been extended through Saturday, Feb. 9. Take an additional 20 percent off all red line sale items, including Nike, Under Armour, winter coats, vests and more. Not valid with any other discounts (All Campus, Department, Alumni Birthday, etc).

April Presidential Forum date change
|
The April Presidential Forum, held in Buckmaster (WBC 214), will be changed from Tuesday, April 2, to Tuesday, April 9.

2019-20 Operating Budget Requests extension
|
The deadline for 2019-20 department operating budget requests has been extended to Friday, Feb. 15. If you are a department budget manager, please refer to the guide posted on the Business Office website for specific guidance and instruction on the steps to follow. You can expect to receive an email with additional information and budget templates specific to your department within a few days if you have not received them already.

The Mail Center can no longer accept All Campus Spending for payment for stamps or services. We regret the inconvenience; please bring cash, check, or credit/debit card as payment. Also, as Valentine’s Day approaches, the Mail Center would like to remind student organizations to check Mail Center policies in preparing mail or gifts for students. What makes life so sweet? Cupcakes to eat and somebody to love! DVK presents Valentine Grams! Send a sweet to your sweetie. Choose your cake flavor, icing, and an adorable note. We can deliver the treat (on campus only) to your darling with a small delivery fee. Tabling, located in the Hub or by the doors leading to Mensa (outside of The Wartburg Store), will be Tuesday, Feb. 5, and Thursday, Feb. 7, 11:30 a.m.-12:45 p.m.

SAFE will be tabling during lunch and dinner at the bottom of the Mensa stairs the following dates: Feb. 4, 5, 7, 8, 11 and 12. Stop and buy cookies for you and your friends for $1 each. The Wartburg Philosophical and Literary Society will meet Friday, Feb. 8, at 4 p.m. in McCoy West of Saemann Student Center. Michael Luebbers, Wartburg biology alumnus and 19-year employee of the USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service, will present “Got Dirt — Get Soil.”

Community Response Team report update

In an effort to ensure meaningful and transparent responses to incidents that impact the campus community, the Community Response Team website was recently updated to reflect the charges brought against a former student implicated in an incident on campus in February 2018. Please click here and select the 2017-18 Incident Report PDF. If you are aware of an incident of bias on campus, please contact Campus Security or any member of the Community Response Team (listed on the website).

Student employment budgets & job descriptions due
|
2019-20 Student Employment budget workbooks and student employee job descriptions were emailed out to the respective supervisors and budget managers the week of Jan. 7. Departments are asked to complete and return the budget workbook and job description templates electronically to studentemployment@wartburg.edu by Friday, Feb. 15. If you cannot locate your department’s budget workbook and/or job descriptions that were emailed to you, please contact the Student Employment Office.

This week's Chapel services
|
Weekday Chapel services are from 10:15 to 10:35 a.m. each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday in Wartburg Chapel; Sunday services begin at 10:30 a.m. Chapel time is a brief opportunity to gather with students, staff, and faculty to reflect on God and faith. Interfaith chapels will be held the last Wednesday of each month during the semester.
