NEW ANNOUNCEMENTS

Avoid campus parking lots on July 4
On July 4, all parking lots will be repainted. Please avoid parking any vehicles in campus lots that day. All cars must be out of lots by midnight July 3.
Campus to transition from Zoom to Teams

Wartburg will discontinue its sitewide Zoom license and transition primarily to Microsoft Teams effective July 9. This transition will save the college more than $30,000 in the coming year without causing any major interruptions to service.

All employees and students will continue to have access to basic Zoom functions, including hosting meetings up to 40 minutes in length and recording meetings to their computer. Longer meetings should be scheduled on Teams to ensure they can be completed without interruption. Teams meetings also can be recorded and saved to the cloud.

Those interested in learning more about the capabilities of Sharepoint and Teams, including the virtual meeting functions, can attend a training hosted by ITS at 10 a.m. July 10 or 1 p.m. July 17. Please register so the team is properly prepared. If you encounter any issues during the transition, please contact ITS at 319-352-8767 or submit a ticket.

International Outfly gathering set in Tokyo

Dr. Kunihiko Terasawa, associate professor of world religions, is bringing Wartburg alumni and students from Japan together for dinner, drinks, and an update on the college. Join him in Tokyo for this international Outfly dinner on Saturday, July 15. The event will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. at Filia Restaurant, Ivy Hall, in Shibuya, Tokyo. The cost is 5,000 yen, which includes dinner and drinks. RSVP by June 30.

Postage rates increasing again July 9
The USPS will increase rates July 9. First-class Forever stamps will go from 63 cents to 66 cents. Postcards will go from 48 cents to 51 cents. Rate increases affect all services, including package shipping, the extra-ounce rate, and metered postage. Departments wishing to purchase stamps ahead of the price increase should contact the Mail Center in advance to ensure the desired quantity is available. For more information, email mailroom@wartburg.edu.
