Wartburg part of collaborative receiving grant to improve the transfer student experience
|
The experience of students transferring from an Iowa community college to Wartburg or any of the other 16 members of the Iowa Private Transfer Collaborative will become more transparent, cost-effective and coordinated thanks to a three-year grant awarded by the Arthur Vining Davis Foundations and Teagle Foundation.
The IPTC received the $350,000 grant as part of the foundations’ shared Transfer Pathways to the Liberal Arts initiative. The IPTC is a consortium of 17 Iowa nonprofit colleges and universities and two nonprofit organizations focused on Iowa higher education. MaTina Clark, assistant director for transfer admissions, and Dan Walther, Gerald R. Kleinfeld Endowed Chair in German History, represent Wartburg on the steering committee.

Wartburg Store manager role changing to director of auxiliary services
|
The Senior Leadership Team reviewed the organizational structure of The Wartburg Store and decided to reduce the 2.5 full-time equivalent employees down to two AND make one of those two positions oversee not only the store but also the operations for the Print Center and Mail Center. This position has been titled director of auxiliary services, and we are currently doing a search for this position. Once filled, this position will report up through the Finance & Administration Division. Until that time, the store operations will remain under the Student Life Division and the Print Center and Mail Center will remain under the Advancement Division. This new structure was created to reduce costs and enhance net revenues from all three of these operations.
