Please contact Amy Wilson, benefits administrator, at 319-352-8278 or amy.wilson@wartburg.edu or HealthPartners at 866-843-3461 with any questions.

Parking access for Worth It Week, Aug. 1-6

Wartburg will roll out the orange carpet (literally!) for high school students during Worth It Week, Aug. 1-6. Encourage high school students you know to schedule a visit to experience what it's like to be a Knight! Every student who visits in person or virtually during Worth ItWeek receives a $500 award per year if they enroll at Wartburg. Share this link with details and registration.

We'd like to make parking on the east side of campus as plentiful as possible for our prospective student visitors, and faculty and staff are asked to please leave most of E Lot (the lot closest to Neumann Auditorium and the Saemann Student Center) vacant for our visitors to use all week. Visitors will arrive M/W/F morning between 8:45 and 9:30 a.m. and T/TH between 12 and 1 p.m. Thank you for your support of this important week!

Friendship families needed for international students

The Wartburg College International Programs office is currently seeking "friendship families" for approximately 20 new international students arriving at Wartburg at the end of August. Friendship families do not house or act as advisers or financial sponsors to the students. They simply meet with their student(s) throughout the year to share meals, holidays, or participate in a variety of cultural activities. For more information or to fill out an interest form, click here, call 319-352-8745, or email Wendy Mohlis, Friendship Family Coordinator.

College joins White House vaccine challenge

The College has accepted President Joe Biden’s invitation for colleges and universities to join him in the White House’s efforts to end the COVID-19 pandemic by encouraging vaccination for all eligible individuals.

By accepting this challenge, college administrators agree to:

Engage every student, faculty and staff member by ensuring that every member of the campus community knows they are eligible for the vaccine and has the resources to find one.
Organize the campus community by identifying champions for vaccine efforts across campus and implementing a plan to get as many members of the college community vaccinated as possible.
Deliver vaccine access to all by bringing vaccines to campus, making it easy for students, staff and faculty to get vaccinated.

Though the college is just now accepting this challenge, these priorities have been at the forefront Wartburg’s COVID-19 response since the vaccine became available. Click here to learn more.

In a July email, Dean Dan Kittle encouraged students to become fully vaccinated before returning to campus for Fall Term. Students who are unvaccinated Sept. 1:

Will be strongly encouraged to wear a mask on campus.
Must quarantine for 7 to 10 days following contact with an individual who has tested positive for COVID-19.
Could be required to partake in regular COVID-19 testing if college leaders deem it necessary to continue safely with campus activities because of an increase in the number of cases in the community or on campus, or because of the emergence of more troublesome variants.
