PREVIOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS

Student tuition account charges due May 7

As the academic/fiscal year winds down, the Business Office would like to make sure all student tuition accounts are up to date. We are reminding all departments that any charges that need to be reflected on a Student Tuition Account must be received by the Business Office no later than Friday, May 7. It is important to get any outstanding charges reflected as soon as possible, especially for graduates, as diplomas and transcripts will not be released until the student account is paid in full. We do realize there are some charges that will come in after the above due date, due to the nature of the charge, such as parking fees/fines, bookstore rentals, and dorm checkout charges. Please click here to access the form to submit charges. If you have any questions, please contact the Business Office at 352-8411.

Business, Financial Aid, HR offices closed April 30

On Friday, April 30, there is a planned system outage for Jenzabar. As a result, the Business, Financial Aid and Human Resources offices will be closed to take advantage of the opportunity to hold staff meetings and trainings. Normal business hours will resume on Monday, May 3. Please plan accordingly to meet your business needs.

Accounts payable deadline change

Due to the Jenzabar migration on April 30, invoices, payment vouchers, and request for payments need to be in received in Accounts Payable by noon Tuesday, April 27. Payments will be completed on Thursday, April 29. If questions, please contact Jodi at accountspayable@wartburg.edu.

Vaccines and face masks

A reminder for all on campus: Those who are fully vaccinated must still mask up, per our campus policy. The only change for fully vaccinated individuals is that they are exempt from contact tracing. If you have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, please email a picture of your vaccine card to covidresponse@wartburg.edu.

COVID-19 leave extended

In March 2020, the college provided 80 hours, or 10 days, of additional paid time off to eligible full-time staff (pro-rated for eligible staff less than a 1.0 full-time equivalent) to be used for any COVID-19 related absences, including:

Recovery from COVID-19
Caring for another person with COVID-19
Self-isolation for others’ protection
Concerns about being exposed to COVID-19
Caring for children when child care or school plans are disrupted because of COVID-19
Resting following a COVID-19 vaccine

This time was set to expire on May 31, 2021. Following a recommendation from the Personnel Advisory Committee, the President's Cabinet has agreed to extend that leave through May 31, 2022. Additional time will not be provided for those who have already used their hours. As a reminder, this time is being tracked in a separate "bucket" on the Kronos time system and will not be paid out if an employee leaves employment of the College prior to May 31, 2022.

If an employee has used all of their COVID-19 time off, has additional time-off needs associated with COVID-19, and is not able to work from home during that time, they will need to use their PTO bank to cover any additional absences.

Living Classroom project to honor Paula

Dr. Penni Pier and Dr. Mike Bechtel have launched a Fund the Fortress campaign to honor Dr. Paula Survilla. As we approach the one-year anniversary of Paula’s passing, the college plans to create the Paula Survilla Living Classroom. In order to complete this project, we need your help to reach our goal of $13,000. Your gift will support an outdoor classroom in the McElroy Center courtyard where faculty, students, and staff will connect with nature while engaging in meaningful learning opportunities. Learn more about the project and make a gift of any size at this link. Drs. Pier and Bechtel are doing a 1:1 match, up to $500, for any new donor to the college.
