Following the recommendations of the Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, HyVee is pausing its distribution of the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine. You can learn more about the concerns here. If you recently received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, whether on campus or elsewhere, and you think you are having a reaction, please contact your primary health care physician or Noah Campus Health Clinic at 319-352-8436. Adverse reactions to any vaccine can be reported through the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System.
Understanding that there are still faculty, staff, and students seeking access to a COVID-19 vaccine, HyVee has offered to substitute the Johnson & Johnson vaccine with the two-dose Pfizer vaccine for this Friday's clinic. Those who had already registered for the clinic will need to re-register for an appointment. Click here to secure your time slot. The first dose will still be administered on Friday, April 16. The second clinic will be Friday, May 7, and those who receive the first dose will be reminded to register for that appointment as the time draws near. The clinic will still be in Levick Arena (enter the building on the campus side and proceed up the stairs to the Levick Arena concourse where additional signage and volunteers will guide you through the process). All individuals must wait in the arena at least 15 minutes after receiving the vaccine, so please plan accordingly.
