On-campus vaccine clinic on April 16
|
The college has secured another 300 doses of the Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) single-dose vaccine (approved for those 18 and older) for members of the Wartburg community on Friday, April 16, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The vaccines will be administered by HyVee in Levick Arena (enter the building on the campus side and proceed up the stairs to the Levick Arena concourse where additional signage and volunteers will guide you through the process).
|
An insurance card IS NOT required to obtain this vaccine. All individuals must wait in the arena at least 15 minutes after receiving the vaccine, so please plan accordingly. This clinic is meant for the Wartburg faculty, staff, and students only. Please do not share this link with others. If you have questions, email covidresponse@wartburg.edu.

HealthPartners Well-Being Program and Health Risk Assessment
|
The College recently rolled out the HealthPartners Health Risk Assessment (HRA). This is free to Wartburg College employees and spouses who are insured through HealthPartners. This is a voluntary program, designed for employees to recognize areas of improvement; it also allows HealthPartners to get a better sense of our overall group health and can target certain educational programs (diabetes, for example) if our group appears more at risk. Click here for log-on and registration information.
**The employee's/spouse's individual data is confidential, and Wartburg will not have access to it. Wartburg will only get aggregate data.**
Once the HRA is complete, employees will have a better idea of areas they want to improve on. The system will unlock relevant Well-Being activities based on their known health needs and interests. Examples include: smoking or vaping cessation, step challenges, and healthy eating challenges.
Participation Incentives
If you completed the HRA assessment by April 1, you will get a free Wartburg T-shirt!
Additional incentives can be won, too! Any participants who complete a Well-Being activity by Nov. 1 will be entered into a drawing for the following: free massage at The W, free specialty class at The W, Kwik Star gift card, The Den gift card, or The Wartburg Store gift card, to name a few (items are taxed).

Students can become Faith in the Vaccine ambassadors
|
A select cohort of Wartburg College student leaders will work in their home and/or chosen communities, particularly faith communities, throughout the summer months to advocate for and educate about the COVID vaccine. Vaccine hesitancy remains an issue in many places, for many reasons, and we need you to leverage your existing connections to spread faith in the vaccine. If you are interested in earning $1,500 for your service and leadership in this bridge-building role, contact Dr. Caryn Riswold as soon as possible for more information about this opportunity, funded and offered in partnership with the Interfaith Youth Core. Training begins in May, and the cohort will be selected before the end of April. Click here for more information.
