The college has secured 300 doses of the Johnson & Johnson single-dose vaccine for members of the Wartburg community on Friday, April 9, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The vaccines will be administered by HyVee in Levick Arena (enter the building on the campus side and proceed up the stairs to the Levick Arena concourse where additional signage and volunteers will guide you through the process). Click here to secure your time slot. All individuals must wait in the arena at least 15 minutes after receiving the vaccine, so please plan accordingly.
As of Monday, April 5, Iowa has opened up vaccine distribution to anyone currently living in the state; however the Johnson & Johnson vaccine is only available for those 18 and older. In addition, this clinic is meant for the Wartburg faculty, staff, and students only. Please do not share this link with others. Faculty and staff will have first priority on all time slots. An email will be sent to all students at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 6, to begin filling in any remaining appointments. If you are seeing this email and know of other Wartburg colleagues who would like the vaccine, please reach out to them and encourage them to check their emails as well.
This is not the only vaccine clinic the college will host in the coming weeks. HyVee has agreed to secure as many doses as the college needs to vaccinate all eligible and interested faculty, staff, and students. It is not clear which vaccine (Johnson & Johnson, Moderna, or Pfizer) will be offered in the future.
