Vocation lives in the heart of a Wartburg education. Helping individuals discover who they are and why they are here is essential to our mission. At Wartburg, we believe each and every human being has a set of gifts that are distinctive to the individual and the needs of the the world. Therefore we are dedicated to helping individuals discover and claim their own unique vocation(s) or calling(s).
The pursuit of discovering and claiming one’s calling does not occur overnight. In fact, vocational exploration and discernment takes a great deal of time and effort. To discover one’s calling, individuals have to reflect on who they are and what they were created for. The answers to these big questions can be uncovered by reflecting on the individual’s values, passions, skills, gifts, interests, and a variety of other factors that may point them in the direction of their vocation(s). Use this site to help you learn more about yourself and how you can serve the world.
