MBK Literary Symposium on Wednesday features humanitarian

The annual MBK Literary Symposium will feature Carl Wilkens, founder of World Outside My Shoes, in an online interactive webinar titled "Restorative Pathways: Lessons from Rwanda" at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28. Register at this link; the whole campus community is invited to participate. Wilkens was the only American who chose to stay in Kigali, Rwanda, throughout the 1994 genocide. He worked with Rwandan colleagues to help save the lives of hundreds, bringing food, water and medicine to groups of orphans trapped around the city. In 2011, he completed a book detailing these days titled “I’m Not Leaving,” which also inspired a documentary film. Contact Dr. Zak Montgomery with questions.
