Class schedule for Ash Wednesday
|
The class schedule changes to provide time for worship on Wednesday, Feb. 26, 10 to 10:50 a.m. Students, faculty, and staff are invited to Ash Wednesday worship with the Imposition of Ashes, Holy Communion, music, and a message by Pastor Brian Beckstrom. The schedule for the morning of Feb. 26 is as follows: 9 a.m. classes dismiss at 9:50 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. classes begin at 11:00 a.m. Campus offices, including the Den and Konditorei, will close from 9:50 to 11:00 a.m.

The Christian church year season of Lent sets aside the six weeks prior to the Easter celebration of Jesus’ resurrection from the dead, as a time to press “pause” and return to questions about God’s purposes and our own. It is a season of reflection, repentance, and rejuvenation. This year’s observance is from Feb. 26 through April 12.

Wednesday closures during Lent
|
During the Wednesdays of Lent (March 4, 11, 18, 25 and April 1), college administrative offices, as well as the Den and the Konditorei, will close during Weekday chapel time, 10:15 to 10:35 a.m. (The W, Zesty Orange, Security Office, Information Desk, and Mensa will remain open). This provides time for faculty, staff, and students to participate in the Lenten chapels or take a break from meetings, lessons, and daily work. Please note that food ordered through GET will be available as soon as the stores open, including board plan meal transfers.

HIRS 1095-B coverage statements: changes for 2019 tax year
|
Earlier this month, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) sent out a notice providing guidance on the ACA employer and health plan coverage reporting requirements. Because the individual mandate penalty is $0 beginning in 2019, individuals do not need the information on a Form 1095-B to file their tax return or determine their tax liability for 2019. Given that guidance, HealthPartners will not mail 1095-B forms to fully insured commercial members in 2020 for the 2019 tax year. If members still wish to have a copy of the 1095-B form, they may request it by emailing HealthPartners, calling 844-565-0630, or mailing in a request to this address:

Hope Overflow open rehearsal Friday

Hope Overflow will have an open rehearsal Friday, Feb. 28, at 7 p.m. in McCaskey Lyceum. Anyone still on campus when Winter Break begins is invited to join us for a night of worship and music.

Juice publishing schedule

The Juice will not publish next Monday, March 2, due to Winter Break. Please submit items for the March 9 edition of The Juice by 4 p.m. this Thursday, Feb. 27.

Leadership and Service Award nomination forms are available now and due by Monday, March 9. Click here to nominate someone you know for one or more of the following awards: Nobility Award; Debbie Heida Award; Outstanding Organization; Outstanding International Senior; Dell Awards for Peace and Justice; Peacemaker Award; Outstanding Organization Service Award; and the Outstanding Organization Adviser Award. Winter Break dining hours

RecycleMania is an eight-week waste reduction competition across the nation! The goal for this competition is to track all of the waste going to the landfills and other diverted materials that leave campus during this time. Additionally, activities on campus will inform students about the importance of sustainable habits. Sustainability asks all students and staff to participate in our campus-wide competition by ensuring they are properly disposing of waste and recyclables. ConnecTED Candlelight Dinner

ConnecTED members will discuss their organization as well as the turnout of their most recent TEDx event while students, faculty and staff network and connect over a special dinner on Wednesday, Feb. 26, at 6:30 p.m. in the Heritage Ballroom in Saemann Student Center. Must be pre-registered to attend.

‘Artificial Order’ art exhibit on display
|
The work of Fayette artists and educators Laura Colby Gleissner and Elissa Cox Wenthe will be on display in the Waldemar A. Schmidt Art Gallery in “Artificial Order” through March 29. The exhibit focuses on the beautiful similarities that can be found between interior, man-made architectural works and the compelling architectural similarities found in the natural world. The gallery is located on the first floor of the Bachman Fine Arts Center and is open to the public 9 a.m.-7 p.m. daily. For details, contact Gallery Director Johanna Kramer-Weston.

Chapel services this week
|
All are welcome at Weekday Chapel services from 10:15 to 10:35 a.m. each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday in the Wartburg Chapel. Chapel time is a brief opportunity to gather with students, staff, and faculty to reflect on God and faith. The Lord's Supper is celebrated at the end of the service on Mondays and Fridays. Interfaith chapels will be held the last Wednesday of each month during the semester. Sunday worship is celebrated at least once a month, starting at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel.
