See Something, Say Something cards

Do you have the new “See Something, Say Something” card? Get one for yourself and extras for friends in the Campus Security or Student Life offices. They include the link to the new online reporting form, which anyone can use to confidentially report a non-emergency crime that has occurred on or off campus. German-U.S. symposium on campus
|
“Perspectives on German-U.S. Relations: Pasts, Presents, & Futures” is a symposium hosted by the Gustav-Stresemann-Institute (Bonn, Germany) and Wartburg College on Monday, March 18. All are invited to join us for a daylong event featuring a variety of speakers, a lunch, an evening reception, and this year’s Kleinfeld Lecture, presented by Dr. Mark Cassell, professor of political science at Kent State University. Winter and May Term balances
|
Winter term balances were due by Feb. 10, and May Term balances are due by Sunday, March 10. Student balances must be below $1,000 in order to participate in early registration and the housing lottery for the 2019-20 academic year. Early registration and housing lotteries will begin in March.
Monthly payment plan participants: If your payments are current and your remaining scheduled payments will bring your balance below $1,000, you will be able to participate! In addition, May Term travel courses must be paid in full by March 10 to avoid cancellation. If cancelled, participants will be responsible for any non-refundable charges to date, as outlined on their May Term Financial Responsibility Form.

Students who receive donor-funded scholarships as part of their financial aid package have received an email with details about completing a thank-you note. To write your thank-you note, please look for a Feb. 21 email from Scott Leisinger. In that email, you’ll find a personalized link to complete your thank you note. Global Connections candlelight dinner

Students offer free tax assistance
|
Accounting students at Wartburg will offer free income tax assistance through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program, which is open to the public. Students will assist in the preparation of tax returns every Tuesday and Thursday, Feb. 19-April 15, 2-4 p.m., in WBC Room 101. No appointment is necessary. Registration hold reminder

If you received an e-mail from the Registrar’s Office on Feb. 6 about declaring your major or submitting a diploma application, Feb. 22 was the last day to submit the missing form(s). Students who have not submitted the appropriate form(s) on time will have a registration hold placed on their account to prevent them from registering on Monday, March 11.

Wartburg College Dance Marathon is a nonprofit organization that raises funds for the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital. The money raised goes to kids with pediatric illnesses and injuries and their families in order for them to live the best life possible. 'Memory Beads' exhibit at art gallery
|
One part traditional exhibition and one part history lesson, "Memory Beads" pairs Christine Flavin’s imagery alongside displays of the historical tools of the photographic trade: antique cameras, daguerreotypes, tintypes, albumen cabinet cards and more. The gallery is open to the public 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.

New discernment group for students
|
Students are invited to a discernment group called "(w)holy listening" after Sanctuary at 10 p.m. Wednesdays in Chapel Commons (basement of the Chapel). Halcyon Bjornstad, director for the Integrated BA/MDIV Degree program, leads the group for any student who is interested in listening to God's call in their life. Whether that is choosing a major or deciding what to do this summer, all are welcome to join. For more information, contact Halcyon.
