| Wind Ensemble fall concert |
| The Wind Ensemble will present its annual fall concerts Nov. 3-4. The band will perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday in Neumann Auditorium. Admission is free. This year’s performance will feature Johan de Meij’s Symphony No. 1, “The Lord of the Rings.” The five-movement work will be narrated by the wizard Gandalf. | The Waverly Post Office reminds everyone that any non-paper-based item, including rings, keys, bracelets, medals, and flash drives, even when placed in a regular envelope, will be charged and handled as a package. Mail Center staff can assess and apply the correct postage. Please also put your name on outgoing mail. Stop by the Mail Center or contact mailroom@wartburg.edu if you have tried to send a bracelet or keys by regular envelope in the past month. Two outgoing mail pieces that cannot be sent with a single stamp are at the Mail Center waiting to be claimed due to no name on the return address. |

| The next speaker for the Wartburg Philosophical and Literary Society is Dr. Amy Nolan, professor of English. The title of her talk is "Searching for a Language that Heals: Teaching and Writing from a Ruined Landscape.” The talk is at 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, in McCoy West of the Saemann Student Center. Refreshments will be provided. |

| WSMTA candlelight dinner |
| The sign up for the candlelight dinner hosted by WSMTA will take place Wednesday, Oct. 31, and Thursday, Nov. 1, from 5 to 7 p.m. in Mensa. As part of Music Therapy Awareness Week and in the wake of Enlightenment Week at Wartburg College, WSMTA will discuss how music therapy is used when working with individuals on the autism spectrum while students, faculty, and staff mingle over dinner on Wednesday, Nov. 7, at 6:30 p.m. in the Heritage Ballroom in Saemann Student Center. The cost for students with a board plan is one swipe from their meal plan and $3. This may be paid with points or cash at the time of sign up. Off-board students may also attend, and their cost will be $15 at the time of sign up. Special dietary considerations will be taken into account. |

Auditions for the 2019 production of Eve Ensler's The Vagina Monologues will be held Nov. 5-6 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. in the McCoy rooms. Cast auditions are open to anyone who identifies as a woman. | May Term camping ministry opportunity |
| Join Dan O'Brien this May Term traveling across the country visiting with, volunteering at, and interviewing outdoor ministry camps as a way to formulate our own understanding of what and how outdoor ministry is in the world today. We will focus around biblical, theological, and practical issues of camping ministry. Educational format includes classroom instruction and camping ministry training at an outdoor ministry site related to the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Prerequisite: RE 101. Weekday Chapel services are from 10:15 to 10:35 a.m. each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday in Wartburg Chapel; Sunday services begin at 10:30 a.m. Chapel time is a brief opportunity to gather with students, staff, and faculty to reflect on God and faith. Interfaith chapels will be held the last Wednesday of each month during the semester. Upcoming speakers:
