The event featuring Bob Vander Plaats, CEO of The Family Leader, and Donna Red Wing, former One Iowa executive director, set for Tuesday, Jan. 31, and hosted by Wartburg College Republicans, has been canceled. Open house and applications
for The Residence |
Learn more about applying to live in The Residence at an open house Thursday, Feb. 2, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., in The Residence lounge on first floor. Come and see a suite, ask questions, find roommates, and enjoy treats. The Residence features eight-person suites with a large living space and two bathrooms per unit. Start to form your group now and apply for next year! Applications will be available on the Info Center starting Wednesday, Feb. 1; the deadline is Feb. 26. Sign up for Candlelight Dinner |
Sign up for the Candlelight Dinner hosted by The V-Day Campaign on Wednesday, Feb. 1, and Thursday, Feb. 2, from 5:15 to 7 p.m., in Mensa. The Candlelight Dinner will take place Wednesday, Feb. 8, 6:30 p.m., in the Heritage Ballroom. The V-Day Campaign will discuss their organization while students, faculty, and staff mingle over dinner. The cost for students with a board plan is $2. Pay with points or cash at the time of sign up. Off-board students also may attend, and their cost will be $10 at the time of sign up. Special dietary considerations will be taken into account.

The next meeting of the Wartburg Philosophical and Literary Society will be Friday, Feb. 3, 4 p.m., in McCoy West. The speaker will be Dr. Erika Lindgren, associate professor of history. The title of her talk is Vikings in the Scottish Isles. |

SCC Snack Bowl is coming this Sunday, Feb. 5, in the ballrooms! This is a free event for Wartburg students. What’s better than watching football on the big screen, fun trivia, free food, and relaxing in the comfort of the Football Lounge? Watch the Falcons and the Patriots on the 10x10 projection screen as they compete for the Vince Lombardi Trophy! We will also have a nacho bar and root beer floats. The Vagina Monologues performances |
Performances of The Vagina Monologues will take place Thursday, Feb. 9, and Friday, Feb. 10, 7:30 p.m., in the Lyceum. The Vagina Monologues is a student-run stage production that dives into the mystery, humor, pain, power, wisdom, outrage, and excitement buried in women’s experiences. Tickets for the performances are $5, and all proceeds will be donated to Cedar Valley Friends of the Family. Please join us in celebrating our 11th year of presenting work based on the lives of real women written by Eve Ensler and retold by your peers. Say yes to donating your dress! Donate your gently used formal dresses, shoes and accessories to give girls in our community an affordable way to enjoy their prom night. Library extends Saturday hours |

Dance Marathon Pizza Ranch fundraiser |
Wartburg College’s Dance Marathon will be having multiple Pizza Ranch fundraisers in the upcoming weeks. When you eat at Pizza Ranch in Waverly, Dance Marathon will get a portion of the proceeds as well as tips. Fundraising nights are Jan. 30 and Feb. 6, 13, 20, and 22. |
