The Juice (Faculty/Staff) - Dec. 5

Dec. 5, 2016
Candlelight Vespers Sunday night
Join us as we prepare our hearts and lives for the Advent/Christmas season Sunday, Dec. 11, at 7 p.m. in Wartburg Chapel. Pastor Brian Beckstrom will give the homily, and Pastor Ramona Bouzard will lead worship. Music by the Wartburg Flute Choir, directed by Dominique Cawley; the Wartburg Handbell Choir, directed by Tim Schumacher; Dr. Karen Black; Psalm 149 Dance Group; and student vocalists will help prepare the way. Invite your friends, suitemates, community members, and others to join you! The service will also be streamed live on Knight Vision.

Request for budget-related ideas from President Colson
As I shared this fall, we need to identify $1.3 million in revenue enhancements and expense savings, with implementation occurring in the coming two years. The issues were discussed during informational budget meetings open to all faculty and staff (presentation available here). Answers to questions asked during those meetings are available here.

If you have additional ideas for new or enhanced revenues or expense savings, please share these ideas with your department head. Those ideas will be passed along to the appropriate Cabinet member. If you prefer to remain anonymous, you can submit your ideas here. Although accepted at any point, ideas would be most helpful before Jan. 6, 2017.

The President’s Cabinet, working closely with the President’s Budget Advisory Council (PBAC), will review and consider all submitted ideas over the next eight weeks. Updates will be provided to the campus community via the Juice, the President’s State of the College address, and presidential forums. We expect to have all revenue enhancements and expense savings identified by the end of January 2017. Click here to read more about the budget on the InfoCenter.
