Wartburg West announcement

Wartburg’s mission includes a commitment to experiential education throughout the U.S. and globally, and our current strategic plan identifies student success as paramount to our vision for the future. As faithful stewards for growth in U.S. and global student experiences, the Board of Regents approved transitioning the Wartburg West program to a curriculum-based experiential learning opportunity following the 2024 Summer Term. Students will still be encouraged to consider Denver as an internship, student-teaching, or practicum site; however, the college will no longer employ a staff member specifically in Denver or secure housing for students choosing this option. This transition comes as the college looks to expand curriculum-based experiential learning opportunities in multiple metropolitan areas to better serve the needs of all Wartburg students.

Advisers, please work with students who may have been considering Wartburg West as part of their four-year plan to help them consider alternative paths forward.
