Thank you to everyone who served on MLK Day! We had 96 students and employees serve off campus, while 136 students and employees served on campus. A total of 90 reusable bags, 142 pairs of socks, and 244 dog toys were made. Great work, Knights!

Chris Knudson, chief marketing officer, will share progress on the college’s reputation and messaging research project, including highlights from the findings. Attendees will be invited to participate in a roundtable discussion to provide insights into how we can best describe the college in the areas of distinction identified. In addition to the faculty/staff survey last fall, this session is a great way for our entire community to have input in how the college is presented to others. Help us shape the next chapter of Wartburg’s story by attending.

Wartburg Community Symphony: ‘Music Takes Flight’

This concert will feature the world premiere of Jocelyn Hagen's “Messages from Everywhere” in celebration of the symphony's 70th anniversary. The work will be a sensory experience with the symphony, Wartburg Choir, live projected digital imaging, and surround sound. The concert will also include O. Respighi's “The Birds,” featuring winners of the art competition; R. V. Williams’ “The Lark Ascending,” featuring violin soloist Dr. Steve Sang Koh; and Haydn's Symphony No. 83, “The Hen.” Tickets are available now. |

Achievements and accomplishments
|
Dr. Michael Gleason, associate professor of leadership and associate dean for graduate studies, co-edited an issue of New Directions for Student Leadership titled “Developing Leaders in Graduate and Professional School Settings.” He also co-authored several articles within the issue, including an article describing the results of focus groups involving 24 leadership educators and students from across the U.S. This article and a subsequent article titled “A call for the leadership education field” help provide direction to the graduate leadership education field.

Participants will explore historical and contemporary attractions throughout Greece and western Turkey — especially those with special significance in Christian and Islamic traditions — with extended time in Athens and Istanbul.
