Summer communication — This marks the final regularly scheduled edition of The Juice for the academic year. The Juice will be released as needed over the summer. Commencement 2015 — The 163rd Spring Commencement ceremony is Sunday, May 24, 1:30 p.m., in Hoover Fieldhouse & Track. The ceremony will be live streamed on Knight Vision and a photo gallery from the event will be posted. The expected 347 May and August graduates include 30 international students from 22 countries. President Darrel Colson will give the charge to the Class of 2015; Nicole Harrison, a psychology major from Rochester, Minnesota, will offer the student response. Other Commencement weekend activities include:
- Senior Art Exhibit — 9 a.m.-7 p.m., daily, Waldemar A. Schmidt Art Gallery
- May Term Band Concert — Saturday, May 23, 6:30 p.m., South Campus Mall (rain location McCaskey Lyceum)
- Baccalaureate — The Rev. Ramona Bouzard will deliver the message Sunday, May 24, 10 a.m., Hoover Fieldhouse & Track
- Pre-Commencement Concert — May Term Band, Sunday, May 24, 1 p.m., Hoover Fieldhouse & Track

Wartburg pride on parade — The Marketing & Communication Office seeks assistance in organizing Wartburg's entry in Waverly's Heritage Days parade, set for 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 18. Those interested in serving on a planning committee should email Clint Riese, communication specialist, at clint.riese@wartburg.edu. Those with other plans that weekend are still welcome to help plan the effort. Let's show the area our Wartburg pride!
Temporary closures of The Wartburg Store — The Wartburg Store will be closed Thursday, May 28, and Friday, May 29, for annual inventory work. It will open for SOAR Day Sunday, May 31, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The store also will be closed 8 a.m.-1 p.m., Tuesday, June 9, for server reconfiguration. With urgent requests during that timeframe, please call 8227.
One-day closure of print shop — The Digital Print Center will be closed Tuesday, May 26, for inventory work.
One-day office closure — The Human Resources & Payroll Office, Luther Hall 203, will be closed Friday, May 29.
Phonebooks available — Yellowbook phonebooks have been delivered to campus. Copies will be available at the Information Desk in Saemann Student Center through Monday, June 15.
Summer hours — College offices will begin to observe summer hours, 8 a.m.-4 p.m., the week of May 24. Regular hours will resume the week of Aug. 22.
Dining Services reception — Join the Dining Services staff in congratulating Jan Hyde, Mensa manager and student employment coordinator, and Betty Matthias, cook, on retirement. A celebration will be Wednesday, May 27, 1:30-2:30 p.m., in the Castle Room. A program will begin at 1:45 p.m.
Reception for Marnie (Margaret) Hubbard — Join the Vogel Library staff in honoring Marnie Hubbard, technical services associate, for her service to the college since 1979. A reception will be Friday, May 22, 9:30-11 a.m., on the third floor of the library. Light refreshments will be provided.
CCE reception — Join the Center for Community Engagement in wishing Mandie Sanderman and Gail Sexton good luck and best wishes as they leave Wartburg. The CCE, on the second floor of Vogel Library, will host an informal reception open to all faculty, staff, and students, Thursday, May 21, 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
Service of blessing and thanksgiving — All are invited to a service of blessing and thanksgiving for the Class of 2015 Saturday, May 23, 5 p.m., in Wartburg Chapel. Dr. Daniel Black, Department of Biochemistry, Chemistry & Engineering Science chair, will give the message, and Paris White '15 will give the testimony. Hope Overflow and Dr. Karen Black will provide music. Communion will be offered, and the attire is casual.

Coca-Cola coming to campus — Beginning June 1, Coca-Cola will become the main beverage supplier for the college. The change applies to all parts of campus, including Dining Services, athletics, vending, and events held on campus. Questions about this change should be directed to Dr. Margaret Empie, assistant vice president for dining and retail services, at margaret.empie@wartburg.edu or Marty Johnson, associate director for retail and dining services, at marty.johnson@wartburg.edu.
Trust gift establishes scholarship — The college recently received a $1.9 million estate gift to establish the Edward W. Jesse Jr. Endowed Scholarship and support the Transforming Tomorrow campaign. The gift, provided by the Edward W. Jesse Jr. Trust, is one of the five largest estate gifts the college has received. The scholarship will be awarded to rising sophomores and juniors majoring in elementary education. Click here to learn more.
Tokyo Outfly — Dr. Kunihiko Terasawa, assistant professor of world religions, will host the third annual Tokyo Outfly Saturday, Aug. 1., 6-9 p.m., at the Ivy Hall, Filia Restaurant in Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan.
