Waverly residents have a great new reason to start recycling. In early September, Waverly opened a new bigger recycling center at 2800 5th street NW.
According to Waverly public works, The Center still receives the same recyclables as before the move; it just has more space now to grow and change with Waverly’s needs.
Accepted recyclables include Paper, cardboard, newspapers, glass, plastic, cans, books and more. The new center is a necessary step forward for Waverly.
Roger Hirsch, en employee said “They had to do something, I mean over there it was getting pretty crowded and it was dangerous with trucks backing in and out all the time too.”
The new center is open from 7am to 5:30pm on weekdays and 8 to noon on Saturday.
