If you have seen the new FOX hit show Glee, then you have seen the work of one of Waverly’s own.
Nikki Hassman Anders graduated from Waverly Shell-Rock high school in 1993 and now she is living her dream in California with her husband Adam, while her parents sit and watch her live her dream from their living room.
“Oh I think it is just a lot of fun. We really enjoy seeing the music, hearing the music, and seeing the chorography.” said Nikki’s dad, Gaylen Hassman.
Nikki and her husband are the ones in charge of providing some of the vocals and working on the arrangements for the show’s songs.
At a young age Nikki’s parents knew she was a very talented girl.
“Very early on when she was very young she was very physical and in gymnastics so she kind of got used to being in front of people and then about 8th or 7th grade she found out she had a great voice.” said Lynda Hassman, Nikki’s mother.
Gaylen Hassman says his daughter’s favorite part of working on the show Glee is working with the young actors, as well as writing new versions of the older songs.
“That’s the fun part for them. Taking the old music because that’s essentially what they do, that music that has already been recorded and making a new arrangement or new version.”
You can catch Nikki and her husbands work on Glee Wednesday nights at 8 PM on FOX.
