The Waverly-Shell Rock school district will be getting a new school.
Waverly-Shell Rock held a special board meeting on March 19th to share new information with the community.
One of the main items that they shared was that FEMA approved the rebuilding and relocation of Washington Irving Elementary.
The new school will be built at a site that had been previously purchased by the school district before the summer flooding.
FEMA will also being paying for the parking lots, playground, roads, utilities, and land aquisition as well as the building.
The amount of the bond is still unknown, because what they will receive depends on how much the final cost will be.
