"In Lot We Trust"

by Taylor Sutton

Everyone run, everyone hide
The towers are falling, look at the sky
It burns in my heart, the tears in my eyes
Look at the mothers, just look at them cry

We must not question, we must not forget
We must now destroy, we need not regret
Glance over history, sum up the past
Look only forward, never look back

Open your Bible, remember poor Lot
Saddam and Gomorrah, the lesson was taught
Those cities were slaughtered, the sinners were killed
The actions were God, His judgment fulfilled

Remember what happened to the wife of poor Lot
She had looked back, just look what she got
A pillar of salt, an irregular curse
We don’t understand this, but action comes first

I’ll give up my rights to avenge this great trick
I’ll sell my two daughters, I’ll wave my big stick
Islamic fanatics, that’s got a nice ring
We’ll use it against them, we’ll crown it their king

Let’s head to the East, let’s go to Iraq
Let’s trust the stories, let’s never look back
Ignore who gets rich, don’t mind what they’ve done
What’s important is now, the war must be won

Look at the smoke, watch how it spreads
To block out the light and cover the dead
So we’ll fight in the dark, like something is there
Who would dare stop us? Why should we care?

Trust in our leaders and trust in our god
Nothing’s our fault so gear up the squad
They hate us and freedom so that must be it
It’s easy to see for the pieces now fit

It must be pure evil, we’ll do what we must
God bless America, in Lot we shall trust
Send out your children, appease the great Crowd
Destroy all the bad guys, erase all the doubt

It’s been many years, the towers still falling
The city still burning, the soldiers still crawling
Who could have done this, who gave them the guns?
Who stood to gain, surely not us.
