The men’s soccer team dropped their second game in conference play to Loras, 2-0 on Saturday in Dubuque.
The Duhawks scored in the 39th minute and never looked back as they added another goal in the 67th minute to put the Knights away.
Head coach T.J. Buchholz said the team has to be a little more dangerous in the attacks.
“With playing a top 10 team, we were down, but our guys were in the game and we did everything we could to get back in the game,” Buchholz said.
On Wednesday, the Knights topped Cornell on their home field, 7-0.
The Knights struck first in the sixth minute as Brandon Cook found the back of the net, assisted by Nate Hedrington to put the Knights up 1-0.
In the eighth minute Eric Peters turned a pass from Luke Prater into a goal to put the Knights up, 2-0.
The Knights continued their offensive attack during the end of the first half, with Adam Wieckart scoring assisted by Josh Palmer.
In the second half, the Knights added four more goals. The first one was from Cook on an unassisted goal during the 60th minute.
The second by Palmer in the 62nd minute came with an assist from Cook and Hedrington.
Wieckart scored the third goal in the 77th minute with Jon Farrell on the assist.
Hedrington scored his second and the final goal in the 83rd minute with an assist from Farrell.
Buchholz said scoring seven goals on any conference team isn’t an easy task.
“Spreading the ball around is what we want. I am really proud and pleased with the guys in getting that result. They did everything we asked them to do,” Buchholz said.
The Knights will travel to Cedar Rapids on Wednesday to face Coe at 3 p.m.
