Both Knights basketball teams will host their opening round of the Iowa Conference Tournament. The men who captured the No. 4 seed will host the No. 5-seeded University of Dubuque, while the women will wait for a playoff game to see who they will host as they secured the No. 2 seed.
The men (13-12, 8-8 IIAC) split their two meetings with the UD Spartans (14-11, 7-9 IIAC) earlier this year. The Knights dropped a 64-54 game in Dubuque earlier this season, but relinquished their loss by topping the Spartans 71-53 Jan. 31.
Tip-off is set for Tuesday night in Levick Arena at 7 p.m., with the winner pitted against the No. 1-seeded Buena Vista Beavers (23-2, 15-1 IIAC). The Beavers’ only loss came at the hands of the Knights on Jan. 19.
After finishing the season with an 83-53 win over Central, the women (15-10, 10-6 IIAC) finished the season second in the conference standings. The Knights earned the No. 2 seed and will now wait for a playoff game to determine their opponent.
The Knights will play the winner of No. 6 Coe and No. 3 Loras on Thursday in Levick Arena. The Coe and Loras showdown is set for Tuesday night in Dubuque at Loras.
