Bandalai was a lot of fun last night. I came up with a sweet outfit…rocked a jersey with some crazy knit leggings, big earrings, a hat and some sneakers…it was sa-weet. We stayed out until about 5am and I had a great time except for the very end of the night. When we were in the club, I took my cell phone out of my clutch to check the time and I think when I did, my 10 Euros must have fallen out because about 10 minutes later we left and I grabbed a cab…cashless. I didn’t realized I was broke until the cab driver got me home and I bought *$#^ my pants. I was so pissed. So I had to run inside while the cab driver held my cell phone hostage to wake up my roommate because that was the only cash I had to pay the driver. It ended up being almost 10 Euro, which was ridiculous…I’m pretty sure he jacked up the price when I ran inside, but whatever. So I was pretty upset and bummed at the same time that I lost that 10 Euro but it happens I guess.

The Blosch family got in last night…some of their luggage was lost in Amsterdam (go figure), but they managed to get it all pretty quickly, thank God.

After my dance class, I met up with them and we walked to Nervion together. It was fun to be a tour guide for them and we had a really interesting conversation over dinner about Sevillano culture. It consisted mostly of how the people here afford their lifestyles. It always seems like they’re shopping, plus housing is super expensive, but then we started to think about how a lot of people don’t have a car payment to make every month, they have universal healthcare, nor do they pay ridiculous amounts for college, the cars here are small so they don’t pay as much to fill their tanks…etc. But at the same time it makes me curious if the people here ever save money. They tend to go out frequently and that can add up, plus all the shopping and what have you…this really interests me. In my anthropology class in a couple weeks we are going to discuss employment and the job system here in general. I’m curious to see how much minimum wage is and how people manage to pay for their lifestyles…so much to learn…good thing I have another 7 months.
