My intercambio called me yesterday! Intercambios are people the school has paired us up with to basically meet and talk with. I had been trying to get a hold of mine at the beginning of my time here but he never answered my texts or emails so eventually I gave up. When he called yesterday he tried my cell phone, but since I didn’t recognize the number I ignored it. Two minutes later, the house phone started to ring and turns out my intercambio wanted to meet with me. He said he had been trying to get a hold of me this whole time but anytime he called I didn’t answer and I never received his emails so we re-exchanged contact information when we met at the school this evening. We walked down the street to a little pub and talked for awhile about miscellaneous topics. Then we were both pretty hungry so he took me to a tapas bar where one of his friends works and I tried this pork sandwich that was interesting and very good. We spent a good 3 hours talking and getting to know each other…he spoke in English, myself in Spanish…which made for interesting conversation. I really love meeting new people, getting to know them and talking with them…it seriously is one of my hobbies. This guy, Diaz, (I keep forgetting his first name) is a complete stranger but we talked forever. It was so much fun. Afterwards, he drove me home, which was very nice of him because I had no idea where we were. Hopefully, we’ll get to meet up again soon…it was a great experience!
PS: Before I met up with my intercambio I may have done a little shopping with Blosch…I don’t want to talk about it.
Hasta luego,
Maribel
