Today we started our new classes and my first class doesn’t start until 5 on Mondays and 4 Tuesdays, Wednesday and Thursdays (no class Fridays), so I have the majority of the day to do as I please.
Ashley doesn’t have much for early classes either so we went for a jog through the city. It was really interesting for several reasons. The first being how many stares we got from the people in the streets…probably because these people hardly ever run in the streets. I think I’ve seen maybe 10 since I’ve been here, half were foreigners, the other half men, but I’m sure after a while we’ll get used to it. It was also pretty crazy running through the streets because there are so many people and cars that we were dodging things and people left an right…and the people don’t move! So half our energy is spent trying to get out of the way…again, with time we’ll become accustomed.

We jogged down to Maria Luisa park which is probably a good 2 miles or so from our place then continued to down to the river to the Torre del Oro…once we got there, we were exhausted so we did a jog/walk back. It was a lot of fun despite my exhaustion. The city is so lively, there’s plenty to look at along the way.
When I returned home, I got ready and had lunch then eventually headed to the school for class. Now my classes consist of Spanish Art History and Cultural Anthropology of Spain which I have for two hours each M & W. And Wednesdays I also have my Cultural Realities class for an hour prior to my other classes. My only class T & TH is dance class for an hour, which is nice.

I really think I’m going to like my art history class a lot and I think my anthropology class is going to be interesting, but a lot of work.
We have to do an in depth research analysis paper about a certain aspect of the people and their culture here in Spain. It’s going to be really neat as long as I find a topic I’m really interested in. Both classes require 8-10 pages for their final papers, which isn’t too bad as long as I don’t put it off…we’ll see about that.

I finished class around 9:30 which is enough time to get home for dinner and either get ready to go out or do some homework and relax. I’m really happy with my schedule and classes, hopefully it stays this way.

Hasta luego,

Maribel

Re: Corre!

It is good that you started your new classes. Btw, jogging is cool because it helps to become healthy.
