Only a few more days left of 2008. I’m not really sure if I want this year to end…it’s been filled with so many wonderful moments…I’m sure ’09 will too…but the time has just flown and a new year always makes the time move quicker. We will be spending New Year’s in Berlin, we leave tomorrow afternoon…thank God we found a spot in ride share, it was getting pretty difficult, I was unsure whether we’d make it! I’m really looking forward to the seeing the city and ringing in the new year in another part of the world…should be fun and exciting!

Last night was fun too. We met in the town Leo’s aunt lives in and went to a sports bar for some drinks and talking. Johnny was the only guy with 6 women…it was pretty awesome, I’m sure he felt amazing as the birthday boy surrounded by a bunch of women ha-ha! We stayed there for a while and eventually went to another place in the city center where we drank and talked so more. By the time I was feeling light and feathery, we headed out and drove home. When we got to the house, Leo and I, like always, snacked and chatted for a while before heading to bed.

Today we’ve done a whole lot of nothing. I didn’t feel too good this morning, or shall I say afternoon…I awoke at 1 or so. Tonight I think we may be meeting up with some friends after dinner…not quite sure…anyways, I’m kind of bummed to be leaving in the morning. It’s going to be a little rough to say goodbye to her parents  and siblings…they’ve been so great…wonderful really, and I don’t know if I’ll ever see them again, which is tough. This is pretty much the story of my life though; I meet amazing people, befriend them, then, before I know it, I’m saying goodbye, maybe for good. I plan on keeping in contact with them and I really want to send them a package with American things when I get back to the States…especially for the kids.

Bittersweetened to the t,

Maribel
