I didn’t leave the house at all yesterday…which I was totally fine with since I was just tired and felt as though I had aged 45 years.
Today we did go out and about. Chanda and I took the girls with us into the city to look for some last minute Reyes gifts. (Three Kings Day is tomorrow and is the big holiday for Spaniards). During our time in the city, we walked by some notable landmarks, the most important being and ancient monastery, which is now a fancy hotel, San Marcos Parador and we also visited the cathedral of Leon, which is arguably the most beautiful in the country. (I personally like Sevilla’s more…maybe I’m a little bias). Following our shopping and city stroll…we grabbed some coffee and then met up with Chanda’s friends to watch the Three Kings parade. It was your typical holiday parade, floats, candy, music, fog etc. There were some things I didn’t understand. Some of the characters marching did not appear to be very holy, they looked like fairies or some other kind of mythical creature. I don’t know. I didn’t get it but I don’t get a lot of things, so it was fine.
Tomorrow is Three Kings Day, I am unsure as to what the plans are…I think we may be visiting some of Chanda and Pedro’s friends and then the next day Pedro has surgery. Could get interesting around here. Oh, apparently I have to leave my shoes out to be filled by the Kings. That sucks because I have small feet…I’ll probably put my boots out instead. ;) Happy Three Kings Eve!
Hasta luego,
Maribel
