As the days fall into a routine, it seems that Wartburg students are constantly on the go. It is through this over-involvement, however, that the caliber and maturity of students is shown, and Wartburg should pride itself in the dedication and passion of its students.
On April 15, 1947 Jackie Robinson made his debut at second base for the Brooklyn Dodgers, breaking the color barrier in major professional sports. A year later Satchel Paige and Larry Doby joined the Cleveland Indians.
Unified Sports Day is a day for those who normally compete in the Special Olympics to get together with Wartburg students to play games such as basketball, baseball, and bowling in a non-competitive setting.
