Officials at Wartburg College have confirmed the college’s first case of H1N1 on campus.

A flu vaccine clinic will be available to Wartburg Students again this week, but President Darrel Colson wants to remind students that the vaccine is for the seasonal flu.

Wartburg students, faculty and staff will have the opportunity to get a flu shot on two separate occasions on campus in the coming weeks.

Noah Campus Health Clinic has confirmed three cases of H1N1 and has seen 40 students exhibit flu symptoms, according to the communication and marketing department.

Two Wartburg students were diagnosed with confirmed cases of H1N1 flu. In addition, more than 10 students are assumed to have H1N1 flu, and a significant percentage of patients at Noah Campus Health Clinic are arriving with flu-like symptoms.

The Noah Campus Health Clinic received 100 doses of the H1N1 vaccine last week. Nearly 20 doses were distributed within the first two days of receiving the vaccine.

Due to the recent outbreak of N1H1, Wartburg had to cancel this year’s May Term trip to Mexico.
