At 5:45 a.m.Wednesday, the sky was still dark, but Wartburg’s campus was more alive than ever. An estimated 1,000 students streamed from all corners of campus onto Clinton Field, student senate leaders said.

With the start of a new school year, it is vital for student senate to not only improve communication with the students, but to also take a step back and figure out where to go next.

What an interesting week it was for everybody at Wartburg College. One thousand students marched to President Hamm’s house and asked him to declare an Outfly.

Students got the chance to have their voice heard as they met with Wartburg professors, faculty and administration to ask questions based on the platform of the student-led initiative, “Outfly for a Cause.”

Wartburg students are making their voices heard in a big way. Last Wednesday morning, the student-led “Project Orange” took place. “Project Orange” was organized by Student Senate.

Beginning around 5:45 a.m., Wartburg students began gathering on Clinton Field to unite and march to Interim President William Hamm’s house in an effort to have a winter Outfly declared.
