I’m on my way to Madrid at the moment. My last few days in Leon were great! On Monday, Chanda took me to see some more things. I entered the cathedral…amazing! I have never seen such crazy stained glass! It was remarkable. There were so many and all of them were beautiful. We walked around the city even though it was terribly freezing outside…but we did it! We stopped in some smaller, old churches including San Isidoro’s. We also visited the modern art museum, which is a sweet building and a fairly new structure in Leon. Following our scenic tour we went out for a few tapas. We couldn’t get too crazy because we had the girls with us, but it was fun regardless. I haven’t been drinking like I was in Germany so I was quite the lightweight…two glasses of wine and I was warm and fuzzy inside. We got back home, slightly flushed and giggling. Pedro was caught off guard. Poor guy. He’s got his arm strapped to his side and can’t really walk right. I felt bad leaving them.
Last night, Chanda took me to El Humedo, which is the popular nightlife district. Lots of pubs and tapas bars. Nice thing is, tapas in Leon are free so every drink you order, you get a tapa. Warning: this can be dangerous. I was pretty hungry and the alcohol got to me before the food, so I was a bit of a mess after several glasses of rioja. But it was so much fun! And we managed to talk Pedro’s mom into watching the girls so we didn’t have to worry about the kids. I’m glad Chanda got to go out. I did feel bad because Pedro was feeling lousy and couldn’t join us, but we had a nice time.
I didn’t have too much trouble waking up today…only once I got in the bus on my way to Madrid…can’t say I’m feeling the best. Overall, I really liked Leon, I don’t think I could study there, just because I like Sevilla’s nice weather too much J but it’s a nice city and has plenty of good things to offer. Like wine. I love wine.
K bye!
