Printing cost increase
In the 2018-19 fiscal year, printing in the Digital Print Center and on-campus copiers will increase between 1 and 5 cents per copy. A table of the changes can be found here on the Business Office website. The college is adjusting the pricing due to rising costs with college suppliers. Please note the Print Center is the more economical option, and the pricing change reflects this important distinction. If you have questions regarding the printing increase, contact Gary Wipperman or Lori Poehler.
Vehicle rental price changes
The prices charged for vehicle rentals in the Waverly area have increased and are impacting the campus community in the 2018-19 fiscal year. Vehicle rental prices will increase from $1 to $8 per day depending on the vehicle type. See a detailed table of the new pricing on the Business Office website. The mileage reimbursement rate will also decrease from 41 cents to 37 cents a mile in 2018-19 fiscal year. In addition, the college is updating the vehicle policy, which goes into effect immediately. The pricing change will only impact the 2018-19 fiscal year. If you have questions regarding vehicle rentals, contact Operations and Maintenance at extension 8318.
2018-19 budget process
The Business Office is starting to build the detail of the college budget for the 2018-19 academic year. As a part of this process it’s important for all campus members to be able to provide feedback. Department budget managers are responsible for communicating needs to the Business Office, but all employees may communicate with the department mangers regarding essential needs for their departments, especially if they feel there will be an impact by the communicated printing and vehicle rental changes (above).

If you are a department budget manager, please refer to the guide posted on the Business Office website for specific guidance and instruction. There will also be individualized emails with additional information and templates specific to your department.

Topics on which the Business office is seeking information from department budget managers are:
1) Equipment for the 2018-19 fiscal year as well as anticipated needs for the next five fiscal years.
2) Department budget needs – They will be classified in two categories for the 2018-19 fiscal year
    a. Group A – Essential needs (i.e. things shared with your vice president as impacting your department operations)
    b. Group B – Interdepartmental needs (i.e. printing, mailing and vehicle rental increase requests)
3) Student wage needs for 2018-19 fiscal year

The Business Office works with the Cabinet, PBAC and President Colson in reviewing requests. All requests will be reviewed and decisions communicated to department budget managers around the end of April.
