NEW ANNOUNCEMENTS

Golden Knight Awards
The annual Golden Knight Awards will be 7 p.m. Monday, May 22, in McCaskey Lyceum to celebrate the achievements and outstanding performances for the 2016-17 athletic seasons. The awards also will be live-streamed at www.wartburg.edu/knightvision
Say thanks to Kathy
Kathy Liddle, Spiritual Life and Campus Ministry office coordinator, will be leaving the college at the end of May.  Behind the scenes, she has faithfully served Wartburg students, faculty, staff, and alumni for 18 years—one year in Development and 17 years in SL&CM. Pastors Ramona and Brian invite you to share your thanks for her work with a card or email (or casually drop by the office before the end of the week). She has been an invaluable partner in ministry and we are grateful for her faithful service.
Wartburg garden
The Wartburg garden, located across the street from Lohe Hall, still has beds open for members of the Wartburg community who will be in the area this summer. Those who “adopt” a bed in the garden are expected to volunteer 1-2 hours per month maintaining the garden beds for the college, use organic practices, and maintain the weeds and any overhang in your bed. Anne Duncan, sustainability coordinator, can advise you on how to plant, when to plant, and how to maintain your plants. Email Duncan if you are interested.
Shredded paper recycling
When recycling shredded paper, please place it in the single stream recycling containers, making sure it is in a clear bag, specifically labeled “Shredding.” This request is being made by our recycling vendor.
Bremer Avenue construction update
The date to close down the four lanes of traffic on Bremer Avenue from 20th Street to the middle of the Casey’s property has changed to June 5. The 20th Street intersection will turn into a three-way stop. An access road will be constructed to allow access to Waverly Child Care and Preschool on Bremer Avenue during the road project. The work near the bridge continues to move forward despite the weather. Businesses on the east side will be connected to the new main this week, and the paving downtown will start very soon.
