The free classes (participants will need to purchase one book) will be held Tuesdays from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m. Click here for information about Koru. Please pass the word along to students you think might benefit from this class. Students can register or get more information by contacting Dr. Cynthia Bane, professor of psychology.

WartburgAlert Test on Thursday — The emergency notification system for Wartburg College, WartburgAlert, will be tested around noon Thursday, April 28. WartburgAlert is tested, at minimum, once per term. You have to register to be notified; there is no charge, and you may register up to two numbers for text notification and four numbers for voice phones. You are strongly encouraged to register a SMS number to receive a text, which is the quickest and most reliable means of notification. To register, go to the Wartburg College home page, log into InfoCenter, select “Offices,” then in the drop-down select “Parking & Safety” and then “WartburgAlert.” If you have problems registering, come to the security office Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. To verify if you are registered before Thursday, send an email to campus.security@wartburg.edu, and we will confirm your registration.

May Term worship – Faculty, staff and students are invited to Sanctuary, a holy space in the midst of your busy life where you can recharge and renew. Expect a relaxed time of Bible study, fellowship, music, prayers, and communion. This will be the only worship opportunity on campus during May Term and will take place on Sunday evenings (May 1, 8, and 15) at 8 p.m. in Chapel Commons (basement). Come at 7:45 for snacks and conversation; Sanctuary begins at 8 and ends at 9.

SAFE 5K run — Join SAFE (Suicide Awareness for Everyone) in spreading awareness about mental health. SAFE will hold the Stampede the Stigma 5K color run/walk on Saturday, May 14, at 10 a.m. The route will begin and end on Warburg's campus. Holiday calendar — Click here to see the Holiday Calendar for 2016-17 on the Info Center.

Incomplete grade information — Please remind students that an incomplete grade is not valid unless it is supported by a “Student Request for Incomplete Grade” form. The completion of the form should be initiated by the student to confirm that the student and instructor have been in communication regarding the incomplete grade policy. The form is available in the Forms section on My Wartburg or in the Registrar’s Office (LH 216). Any incomplete grade submitted by the instructor without support of the form will be changed to any F. Please refer students to the incomplete grade definition in the 2015-16 academic catalog, which can be accessed online. Incomplete grades should only be issued for students who are passing the course when final grades are due. With permission from the Registrar, instructors can complete the form for a student whose circumstances prevent them from submitting the form. Please note that the form is encouraged, but not required, for internships, field experiences, or Venture Education courses.

Update to employee break clarification – Information was shared in the March 18 edition of the Juice about employee breaks. We have recently received additional information that smoking is allowed on the sidewalk and the space between the sidewalk and the street, when the college property is adjacent to a public street (click here to see a map). This means that an individual smoking during his/her break time or lunch period would NOT need to punch out if he/she smoked on the space from the sidewalk to the street on college property that is adjacent to a public street (marked in green on map). Smoking is prohibited along the sidewalks/easements bordering PRIVATE streets (marked in red on map). Please check with the Security Office if you have any questions about where smoking is allowed.

  • President: Molly Schmitt
