NEW ANNOUNCEMENTS

Gospel worship — Spiritual Life and Campus Ministry, Black Student Union, and Waterloo's Antioch Baptist Church will host a Gospel worship service Sunday, Nov. 9, 10:30 a.m., in Wartburg Chapel. The Rev. Nathaniel Hilliard from Antioch Baptist will deliver the message. Music will be led by Antioch’s Gospel Choir, which includes several Wartburg alumni. Christmas with Wartburg tickets
 — Information about ordering tickets for Christmas with Wartburg prior to public sale has been sent to faculty and staff through campus mail. The Ticket Office at the Saemann Student Center Information Desk will be staffed Monday, Oct. 27-Friday, Oct. 31, noon-4 p.m., to assist with ordering. This year Wartburg also is offering — to the campus only — free tickets for the dress rehearsal Wednesday, Dec. 3, 5 p.m., in Neumann Auditorium. These tickets also must be claimed at the Ticket Office.


Phil and Lit
— Dr. Roy Ventullo will present Ebola and Other Disease-Causing Pathogens at the Wartburg Philosophical and Literary Society meeting Friday, Oct. 31, 4 p.m., in McCoy West, Saemann Student Center.


STEM seminar 
— The next Department of Math, Computer Science & Physics seminar is Tuesday, Oct. 28, 11:30 a.m., in Science Center 134. Representatives from Iowa State University and the University of Iowa will be at the session. Students interested in graduate school in STEM fields should attend.

Parade contest results — Congratulations to KWAR for winning the Homecoming Parade Spirit Contest. The radio station earned the top prize of $200. The Wartburg Ambassadors and Students UKnight teamed up to win second place and $100. Third place and $50 went to Dance Marathon.


Development series event 
— A Fall Professional Development Series event will be Thursday, Oct. 30, 9-10:30 a.m., in Science Center 102. Dan '95 and Jennifer Digmann have battled multiple sclerosis for more than 30 years combined. Their inspiring message, Create a Culture of Inclusion, will center on how they cope. The series is sponsored by Human Resources & Payroll, Pathways Center, and the Diversity and Inclusion Council. 


Harlington Cemetery Tour 
— The Wartburg College History Club and Phi Alpha Theta honor society will host the second annual Harlington Cemetery Tour Sunday, Nov. 2. Walk amongst the graves with Terry Lindell, professor of history, as he shares stories of Waverly’s past residents and points out fascinating details about burial traditions of bygone years. Tours begin at 1 and 3 p.m. Visit the Humanities Office on the third floor of Luther Hall to sign up and prepay the $5 admission. Transportation to the cemetery will be provided.
