Derek N Solheim

Derek Solheim earned his B.A. in Communication Arts-Public Relations from Wartburg College and his M.A. in Counseling from Missouri State University.  Derek has worked in various sectors of higher education across the Midwest in Admissions, Residence Life, Judicial Affairs, and Career Services for the past 20 years.  He has been active in his community by serving as Membership Chair, Vice-Chair, and Chair of the Waverly Area Development Group and the Waverly Chamber of Commerce.  As a certified MBTI facilitator, Derek has conducted MBTI training sessions for groups and organizations across the Midwest for the past 10 years.  Derek and his wife Heidi live in Waverly, Iowa with their two boys and two mini-Dachshunds named Louie and Murphy.

Jette Odgaard Irgens, Cand. Theol., Assistant Director for FYE, Academic Advising & Student Success holds a degree in theology from the University of Oslo, Norway.  Prior to coming to Wartburg, she worked for Skt. Nikolai Tjenesten (suicide prevention) in Copenhagen, Denmark & the ELCA, stationed in São Leopoldo, RS, Brazil – with a number of NGO’s (HIV/AIDS prevention). She has taught a variety of courses at Wartburg (such as, freshman seminar, composition, ELL cultural adjustment, intercultural communication). Jette directs the Writing, Reading, and Speaking Lab (WRSL) and coordinates advising & the first-year experience programs. In addition, she oversees the Summer Knights Bridge Program. 

TJ Warren

TJ Warren earned both his B.A. in Elementary-Middle Level Education and M.A.E. in Postsecondary Education: Student Affairs from the University of Northern Iowa.  Before coming to Wartburg, TJ worked in a variety of areas within higher education including residence life, student activities, and new student programs.  As the Pathways Center Associate for Vocation and Mentoring, TJ serves as a mentor to students helping them discern who they are and how they can contribute to the world’s needs; a role he finds to be very fulfilling.  TJ oversees mentoring programs and initiatives on campus and facilitates workshops regularly on and off campus related to vocation, mentoring, careers, motivation, and leadership.  In his free time, TJ enjoys drawing, reading, blogging, and inspiring others to reach for their potential.  TJ’s family consists of his wife Brittany, his daughter Ava, and his Schnoodle named Oreo.

Nicole Willis

Nicole Willis earned both her B.S. in Psychology and M.A. in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Iowa.  Her previous experience includes case management of occupational disabilities and vocational rehabilitation.  In the Pathways Center, Nicole coordinates disability services and accommodations as an advocate for students with disabilities at Wartburg.  In addition, she administers testing through Pathways including ACT, CSI, Math90 and CLEP.  Off campus, Nicole is a yoga instructor, grateful to facilitate a community focused on health and the connection to self.  Nicole balances her life roles, her most rewarding being mother of three.  She and her husband enjoy attending their sporting events and activities.            

Ieshia Brown

Ieshia currently serves in the position of the Coordinator for Academic and Multicultural Student Services.  Before this position, Ieshia coordinated a mentoring program focused on the success and retention of Multicultural and first generation college students.  Ieshia has also had experience with case management, testing services, and rehabilitation services.  Ieshia graduated from Wartburg College with a BA in Social Work and a Minor in Leadership. She is currently pursuing her M.Ed. in Post-Secondary Education – Student Affairs at the University of Northern Iowa.  Her professional interests include policy and advocacy in higher education, retention of multicultural and first-generation college students, career services, and TRIO programs. Ieshia is a Member of NASPA and holds a position on The Iowa Student Personnel Association (ISPA) Board.
